Lithium Battery Load Test Steps
- Check the cell for leakage, dents, corrosion, or terminal damage.
- Stabilize it at 20°C to 25°C unless another temperature is required.
- Measure the open-circuit voltage with a calibrated multimeter.
- Connect the cell to a programmable DC load with correct polarity.
- Apply the rated current or the actual device pulse profile.
- Record voltage, current, discharge time, and surface temperature.
- Stop at the specified cutoff voltage. Capacity equals discharge current multiplied by operating hours.
For the HOLITH CR123A 3V lithium battery, the published capacity is 1700mAh when discharged at 20mA to a 1.5V cutoff. Its maximum continuous current is 1500mA, while the maximum pulse current is 3000mA. These values should guide the test rather than applying one universal load to every lithium cell.
OEM, Quality Control, and Bulk Supply
Factory quality control should cover raw material inspection, electrode preparation, cell assembly, sealing, aging, voltage screening, internal resistance measurement, and sampled discharge testing. IEC 60086-1 establishes recognized test methods for primary batteries. Section 38.3 of the UN Manual of Tests and Criteria covers transport testing for lithium cells and batteries.
A lithium battery manufacturer controls materials, production records, aging conditions, lot traceability, terminals, connectors, and packaging during OEM or ODM development. A trader may provide samples but often has less control over these manufacturing checkpoints.
HOLITH uses automated production and testing equipment and reports an annual production capacity of more than 40 million batteries. This supports consistent specifications, batch traceability, and stable bulk lithium battery supply.
Before approving a project order, confirm the working current, pulse duration, cutoff voltage, temperature range, service-life target, golden sample, inspection level, UN 38.3 documents, MSDS, RoHS, CE, and destination-market requirements.
